As part of our curriculum, our students complete an operational internship in their 2nd year and a management internship in their 4th year. Both periods are for 6 months with about 350 students per semester and 70 school supervisors are involved. We are looking for someone who can support the internship team and the program manager responsible for this part of our education.
The internship team consists of 5 team members working in the preparation phase of the internship: (placing students at internship companies) and in the execution phase of the internship (supporting students while on internship). You will work in close collaboration with the whole internship team and will also have regular contact with students and school supervisors.
Are you motivated to support the team? As internship office assistant, you will help the team in the overall process (e.g. coordination and organization of internship events, administrative tasks, supporting our students with paperwork, communication with other school departments as well as external partners, booking internship supervisor trips) while working along on projects and being responsible for the online internship/coaching system as Super Key User (OnStage).
The program manager (head of internships) is also looking for an assistant who could support her in her daily tasks and responsibilities. Her responsibilities are linked to the internship semesters, but she is also leading a team of approximately 25 teachers / staff and running strategic projects for the school. The assistant will support with administrative tasks (e.g. support the program manager and teachers of the team, plan meetings and trips), ensuring smooth communication with the team and other departments and supporting with projects (e.g. minutes, presentations, reports, follow-ups, etc.). For this aspect of the job, a confidential work relation is required due to the handling of sensitive and strategic matters.
You have a secondary vocational degree (mbo) or a bachelor’s degree (preference), strong organizational skills and a hospitable and pro-active attitude. Of course you are familiar with all Microsoft Office tools. Due to the task as Super Key User for the online school system, you need to have affinity with ICT and be process oriented. You have an international mindset with a good spoken and written command of Dutch and English (at least B2).
A warm welcome within the internship team of the Hotel Management School Maastricht which offers a challenging and dynamic environment, with often ad-hoc work to be done, allowing for alternations each week.
A position for a minimum of 0.8 FTE (up to 1 FTE) depending on your availability, in a salary scale awarded depending on your qualifications and experience at level 7, with a maximum of € 3,631,83 gross per month when appointed full-time. To this is added holiday allowance (8%) and a fixed year-end bonus (8.3%), a generous number of holidays, professionalization and employability hours and a complete offer to work vitally and with pleasure.
A new collective labour agreement for hbo was recently concluded: from 1 July 2024 and 1 January 2025, wages will be increased by 3% and 4% respectively.
The appointment is for the term of one year with the possibility of extension according to performance, provided that the operating circumstances remain unchanged.
The position is based at the Hotel Management School Maastricht, with the possibility to work online, when work allows it (for a maximum of 50% of the contract term).
We are looking for someone who could ideally start in the new school year (Monday 19th August 2024).
