Target & Purpose of the position:
Reporting to the Supply Chain VP for Europe, the Supply Chain Process Engineer will play a crucial role in the Supply Chain function within our MEA (Middle East, Europe and Africa) region. These are exciting times for Signode and our Supply Chain function as we look to strengthen and grow the team. As part of the Supply Chain team for MEA you will play a key role working alongside our Sales, Commercial and Operations functions to ensure the optimal management of supply from sources to customers.
This is a newly created role which we are recruiting for an initial 12-month period. In this role we need your skills and support to focus on designing and implementing Supply Chain processes, particularly with respect to inventory management and fulfillment of customer orders. As it’s a new role, it also means there will be a bit of evolution, which makes this an exciting time to join our team!
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running – and think on their feet. At Signode no two days will be the same, so you need to be able to juggle multiple tasks and will need exceptional organisational skills. We are also looking for someone who is a self-starter, has great stakeholder management skills and a fantastic communicator.
Key responsibilities
This will be a wide and varied role but these are some of the tasks you can expect:
- Responsibility for gathering data and conducting analysis with the goal of improving the supply chain performance and contribution to the business.
- Identify underperforming areas and recommend improvements and resolutions to issues
- Contribute to set up and measure KPI metrics for supply chain planning, customer orders fulfillment, warehouse and distribution
- Analyze MEA warehousing and freight footprint to contribute to re-define the optimal distribution models
- Work with Product Management, Sales and Operations teams to define, document and implement, demand and supply planning balancing models.
- Provide training and coaching to the rest of Supply Chain team members about Supply Chain Management methodologies and the use and exploitation of Lean techniques and tools (e.g. Loss Analyses, Value Stream Mapping)
- Contribute to the blueprint preparation and implementation of the ERP modules relevant to Supply Chain.
- Keep abreast of developments in supply chain technologies, tools and methodologies to propose continuous improvement plans.
- Apply waste elimination techniques to design ideal state of Supply Chain processes and the relevant improvement plans in collaboration with Supply Chain Managers and Logistics Director.
- Define and implement standards for Supply Chain data storage.
What we’re looking for.
- A Bachelors or Masters degree, ideally in Engineering, Logistics, Business Management or a related field as well as some experience of working in a Supply Chain function;
- Experience in data mining, modeling, analysis and reporting;
- Experience in design and execution of Supply Chaing processes (eg demand, supply and inventory planning, warehouse management;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel – knowledge of ERP architecture would also be helpful;
- A self-starter - someone comfortable in a highly autonomous way of working as well as being part of a wider team;
- Creativity – someone who can think outside of the box and also bring new ideas and ways of doing things. We’re looking for someone who can take ambiguous and sometime complex ideas or issues and bring simple but effective design solutions;
- It goes without saying that good communication skills in English (written and orally) are a must – if you speak a second language that would be desirable although the common language spoken across the business is English.
