The function

Due to the strong growth of the company, we are looking for a DEVICE CLOUD ENGINEER (m/f) Netherlands, Hoensbroek Office

Device Cloud Engineering within ORBCOMM is more than just managing the Cloud. Your expertise is part of a complete platform. You will be working together with the Hardware, Firmware, Software and the Support team to find solutions and optimize ORBCOMM’s solutions. You will have the opportunity to harness all your skills to make a difference in your role. In this role, you are accountable to the Manager Firrmware Engineering.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

• Taking responsibility for the success our customers achieve with ORBCOMM SaaS platform.
• Your scope covers the tooling our customers use to manage, monitor and run their OBCOMM applications on the ORBCOMM cloud and 3rd party clouds.
• Assuring all the platform runs smoothly because our customers use it for their mission critical monitoring systems.
• Conquering technical challenges by finding innovative solutions.
• Analyse the requirements and provide the most appropriate solution
• Independently design the solution for quality and reusability
• Develop cloud based application solution designs for innovations and optimisations in our portfolio
• Work closely with the internal Development departments and be a consultant to you colleagues
• Work closely with developers and consultants from (inter)national partners on issues
• Comply with legislation while designing, implementing and executing our Cloud Applications
• Provide information for solutions for the various technical challenges
• Maintain continuous improvement of our Cloud applications
• Draft and maintain guidelines regarding Cloud solutions

Job requirements:

• More than 3+ years of Strong Core Java Experience and advanced working knowledge of J2EE (JSPs, Servlets, Core Java, XML, Webservices and JDBC), Hibernate and Web Services related technologies…
• Education qualification: BE / B.Tech / ME/ M.Tech / MCA / MS with consistently good academic record.
• Experience on AJAX, jQuery, HTML5,Spring would be an added advantage.
• Experience on low level device interfaces would be an added advantage.
• XML and Hibernate is a must for the position.
• Should have strong SQL skills and developer experience on databases like MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
• Have the ability to pick up any ad-hoc technology and continuous curiosity for new technologies on the horizon.
• Should be a good communicator - both verbal and written.
• Extensive experience developing applications using Open Source Frameworks, IDEs, and Java Application Servers.
• Solid understanding of SQL and Relational Database Management Systems.
