Position Summary

Operate as the overall focal person for the warehouse. Supervision of all warehouse activities related to receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control according to company procedures. Maintain close contact with customer service, in-house service, and logistics department. Instruct, coach, and develop warehouse employees (+-9 fte)

Hierarchical position

Receives hierarchical, functional, and operational guidance from the Logistics Manager. Gives hierarchical, functional, and operational guidance to warehouse employees.

Responsibilities

Main accountabilities

  • Supervise the warehouse team to meet set targets
  • Proactive planning for daily / weekly / monthly workload
  • First point of contact for warehouse related tasks and questions
  • Communication on status of warehouse activities to stakeholders
  • Maintain high level of inventory control and maintain the inventory management systems
  • Perform performance reviews, coach and develop employees
  • Work with the Logistics Manager on improvement and optimalisation of warehouse processes
  • Participate in search, selection, recruitment, and training of warehousing staff
  • Assure adherence to the ACIST quality standards (per ISO13485)
  • Assure adherence to the environmental management system requirements e.g. ISO14001.

Supervision of warehouse activities

  • Loading and unloading of vehicles according to instructions
  • Receive, inspect, sort, and store all systems, accessories, consumables, and spare parts
  • Pick, check, pack, label, and ship all direct and distributor orders on time as requested
  • Execute reverse logistics for repairs, loaners, and other returns
  • Support in-house service department by providing ready-to-process product and service parts.
  • Perform stock counts
  • Register all inventory related activities in the ERP system (SAP)
  • Perform all necessary tasks to keep the warehouse according to 5S principles

Result: Warehouse activities are performed in time, budget and meet ACIST KPI’s and quality standards. Warehouse employees can work independently on assigned tasks. Communication and support are provided to stakeholders so they can manage their expectations.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • MBO 4 degree preferably in logistics or operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an (international) logistics environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading in a logistics and/or warehousing environment.
  • Ability to organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to warehousing staff in area of specialty.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Be able to work flexible and think outside the box.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Skilled communicator.
  • Team player.
  • English Language: Limited working proficiency
  • Preference: Experience working with SAP or similar ERP system
